The Sunderman Conservatory Open House will feature faculty and student panels, special sessions highlighting Conservatory programs like Music Education, the opportunity to attend a class, lunch with current music students, and more!

Sunderman Conservatory of Music Open House Schedule

Thursday, October 31 (optional)

• 4:00-6:00pm College Choir Rehearsal with Dr. Robert Natter – Paul Recital Hall
• 6:15-7:20pm Piano Studio Class with Dr. Jocelyn Swigger – Paul Recital Hall
• 7:00-8:00pm Saxophone Quartet Rehearsal with Dr. Amanda Heim – Room 214
• 7:30-9:30pm Orchestra Rehearsal with Dr. César Leal – Majestic Theater

Students interested in attending a rehearsal should plan to arrive 10 minutes prior to the start time. Rehearsals will be held on the 2nd floor of Schmucker Hall except Orchestra, which will be in the Majestic Theater on the main stage.

• 9:00am Campus Tour (if not attending Music Theory) – departs from 2nd floor lounge area
• 10:00am *Welcome and Introductions with Dr. James Day, Director – Paul Recital Hall
• 10:15am *Distinctively Sunderman, Conservatory Faculty Panel – Paul Recital Hall Dr. Avner Dorman, Dr. Amanda Heim, and Dr. Russell McCutcheon
• 11:00am *Conservatory Admissions, Scholarships, and Aid Parent Session – Paul Recital Hall Dr. James Day and Mrs. Mary Smith
• 11:00am *Conservatory Student Panel for Prospective Students: Liz Callan ’26, Lana Dyer ’27, Greer Garver ‘25, Michael Tropp ‘25
• 12:00pm *Lunch with Current Music Students – Dining Center, Atrium
• 1:00pm Campus Tour – departs from 2nd floor lounge area
• 1:00pm Jazz Information Session with Dr. Amanda Heim 1:30pm Music Composition Information Session with Dr. Avner Dorman
• 2:00pm Music Education Information Session with Dr. Russell McCutcheon
• 3:00pm *“Now Hear This” Student Recital Hour – Paul Recital Hall
• 4:00pm Bullets Marching Band Rehearsal – Memorial Field
• 8:00pm Choir Concert – Christ Chapel

*All registrants should plan to attend these sessions in addition to one of the campus tour times.

Complimentary tickets for Friday nights’ performance event are available by request. If you indicated an interest in attending through registration, these will be held at the registration table under the student’s name.
